Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a type of regenerative medicine (also known as osteopathy). It is used to treat tendinopathy as well as ligament injuries that are difficult to heal. Some degenerative tendinopathies have an associated buildup of calcium in the tendon. Focused shock waves can break down these deposits such as plantar fasciitis.

Mechanisms of Shockwave Therapy

High-energy shockwaves penetrate the tissue, creating mechanical stress that stimulates cellular responses.

Enhances circulation to the treated area, promoting healing and tissue regeneration.

Interrupts pain signals and promotes the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers.

Helps break down calcium deposits in tendons and muscles.
